How it works
Three steps to your echoes through time.
- 1
Your portrait
Take a selfie or choose a clear, front-facing photo in good light. It is analyzed right on your device.
- 2
A little about your life
Answer a few optional questions about what you do, what you love, and where you feel most at home.
- 3
Your echoes
Meet three historical lookalikes, ranked by facial resemblance and the life themes you share.
What you’ll discover
More than a lookalike.
Faces from history
Meet the people from the past whose faces most resemble yours, drawn from public-domain historical portraits.
Lives that echo yours
See the passions, callings, and places you share with each match, and read the story of their life.
Your split portrait
Half your face, half theirs, lined up at the eyes. Add a vintage tone, then save it or share it.
The collection
Twenty-two remarkable lives.
Writers, healers, scientists, reformers, and naturalists. Every portrait is in the public domain, and the collection is growing.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is See Your Echo free?
Yes. See Your Echo is free to use, with no account or sign-up.
Is my photo uploaded or stored?
No. Your photo and answers are analyzed in your own browser. They are never uploaded to a server or stored, and they are cleared when you start over or close the page. Read the privacy notice.
How are my matches chosen?
The app compares the features of your face with the portraits in the collection, then ranks your closest lookalikes by the life themes you share, based on your answers.
Is this a past-life reading?
No. Matches are lookalikes chosen for fun and reflection. They are not proof of a past life.
What kind of photo works best?
A clear, front-facing photo in good light, without sunglasses. Matching works best with photographs.
Who can use it?
Anyone 13 or older, on a phone, tablet, or computer with a modern web browser.
Will more people be added?
Yes. The collection is growing, and the more lives it holds, the closer your matches will feel.
